Four students of SAI International School represented India in the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2019 held in Delhi from July 1 to 7, 2019.
In the prestigious championship, Ankita Sahoo of Class IX secured 4th position in the U-16 category. Ankita who holds International Rating of 1586 secured a total of 4.5 points in seven rounds.
Suhana Jena of Class VIII secured 13th position in the Under-14 category, Pritpal Sarangi of Class III bagged the 26th position in the Under-8 category and Sanchee Sahoo of Class VI got the 30th position in the Under-12 category.
The Commonwealth Chess Championship is a gathering of chess players from Commonwealth countries. The prestigious Championship is organised by Delhi Chess Association under the aegis of the AICF, on behalf of FIDE and Commonwealth Chess Association.
