UNWIND 2018

‘UNWIND’, the annual fest of SAI International School was conducted on Sunday, November 25, 2018. More than 25,000 people including students and parents attended the mega event. A gamut of exciting mind-boggling games and rides, a wide array of delectable cuisines, foot tapping musical performances and the versatility of our talented SAIoneers left the guests spellbound.

It was inaugurated by Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO). Among others present on the occasion were Smt. Preeti Roy, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chairman SAI International School Dr. Bijoy K Sahoo, Principal Shri Harish Sanduja, Sr. Vice Principal Shri Nilakantha Panigrahy, Vice Principal Primary Ms. Rashmi Pandey and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chand said that ‘UNWIND’ defines a huge management exercise and real time experience. He also shared with the students the three important values like, to be a perpetual learner, to understand how to mobilize your resource in an appropriate way and work for the betterment of people. Chairman Dr. Sahoo highlighted the importance of ‘UNWIND’ and said that the basic objective of the mega event is to instill within the students the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The Holistic Parenting Award was given to Shri Manie Ravi and Ms. Bobby Patnaik, parents of Pranav Manie, School Topper 2018. Shri Ravi said that “SAI International has been a fertile ground that complemented Pranav’s dream and ambition”. Prizes were also given to the winners of Commerce and Humanities Model Competitions held this year.

As part of the Social Connect activities, the Special Children of ‘Vriddhi Training cum Production Centre’ were invited to put a stall to showcase their handmade products. They also gave beautiful dance performances which filled everyone with joy. Chumki Datta who heads the organization said that it is very important that these special children earn recognition for their hard work and UNWIND is a good place to display their chemical and paraben free soaps.

The British Council (BC) had a booth at UNWIND 2018 to raise visibility of UK as a study destination. Shri Manish Gupta, Manager Marketing of BC said that the aim is to engage with young people, share information on higher studies at UK, create awareness on digitally enabled libraries and on various English language courses. They also held quizzes which drew a lot of students.

The Flash Mob by students was a huge attraction which brought in a new wave of energy in the crowd. The day ended with an enthralling performance by DJ Ritviz a young singer and Hindustani dance music producer.

The SAI Family including parents and teachers had a wonderful time at UNWIND 2018. Every year SAI International School organizes the mega fest to foster unity and brotherhood, develop compassion, infuse traits of a future leader in the students and enjoy to one’s heart’s content.
