Innovation in the Classroom: Empowering Educators for Dynamic Learning

Innovation is the bridge between ideas and impactful learning.” - Anonymous

On May 11, 2026 marked an intellectually enriching experience for educators of Classes VI to VIII, as they participated in a thought-provoking workshop on “Innovation in the Classroom,” conducted by resource person Shipra Sahoo. The session offered deep insights into transforming contemporary teaching practices to create more dynamic, engaging, and effective learning environments.

A key highlight of the workshop was the clear distinction drawn between invention and innovation. While invention was described as the creation of something new, innovation was emphasised as the meaningful application and enhancement of ideas within real classroom contexts. This perspective encouraged educators to rethink their approaches and focus on practical implementation for improved learning outcomes.

The workshop stood out for its strong practical orientation. It explored a wide range of classroom management strategies, interactive teaching methodologies, and adaptive techniques to address the evolving challenges of modern education. Discussions on student engagement, creativity, discipline, and responsiveness to diverse learning needs underscored the principles of progressive education.

Engaging and immersive in nature, the session encouraged educators to reflect, collaborate, and innovate. It reinforced the idea that teachers are not just facilitators of knowledge, but catalysts for transformation who shape meaningful learning experiences.

Overall, the workshop proved to be a valuable platform for broadening pedagogical perspectives and inspiring educators to embrace innovation as a continuous journey in the pursuit of excellence in education.
